Charity Fundraising
Little Acorns is a charity run pre-school set up for the benefit of the community.
We are a registered charity (no. 1024480) and a member of The Charity Commission – the regulator for charities in England and Wales. We follow Charity law and prepare reports on what we have achieved, our Annual Returns and accounts as required by law. Little Acorns is run by a group of volunteers called trustees or committee members which are made up of parents/carers, staff and other members of the local community who have skills to offer. Little Acorns abides by a governing document or constitution which is a rulebook which sets out how the charity will run.
Little Acorns Committee organise many fundraising events throughout the year. These events are essential to pay for new equipment, outings and hired entertainment Our fees and government funding go towards pay for overheads such as staff wages and hall rental.
These exciting events include cakes sales, dressing up days, art and craft workshops, printed t-towels and calendars, adult entertainment evenings and sponsored events. In order for these events to be successful we need full support from the committee, parents/carers and the wider community. We always welcome new volunteers with ideas to expand and diversify our range of events.
Management Committee
Little Acorns Pre-School is a charity run business which is managed by a committee of volunteer parents and carers of Little Acorns children.
It is only through the time freely given by our committee members that Little Acorns can continue to open and broaden its services.
Little Acorns is a registered charity (no. 1024480), and is a member of the Charity Commission.
To enable us to continue in business our charity must be made up of a minimum of: Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. In addition to these roles, we also appoint volunteers to the roles of Fundraising and Emergency Cover.

Join Us!
We are always looking for new committee members to join our team. Roles can be big or small, depending on the time you have available to us; any time you can offer is always greatly appreciated.
Please do contact any of the staff or committee if you feel you would like to be involved with our work. You do not have to have a child registered with Little Acorns to be on our committee.
