Sickness
We understand that children often have coughs and colds and that largely they are fine during this time to come to preschool.
Health and Hygiene Practices:

We actively promote robust health and hygiene habits, including thorough handwashing, proper respiratory etiquette, and hygienic disposal of tissues.

Regular handwashing is reinforced before eating, after toileting, and after contact with bodily fluids.
Sick Child Exclusion:

Children displaying symptoms of illness or infection will be required to stay at home until fully recovered or the exclusion period recommended by NHS guidelines has passed.

Generally, if a child needs paracetamol, Calpol or similar before attending preschool – they are not well enough to attend.

Parents are asked to keep their child at home if symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, persistent cough, rash, or infectious illness are observed.

Parents must inform the setting promptly of any contagious disease diagnosis.
Parents/carers are asked to telephone the preschool by 9:30am if their child will be absent. If we have not received a telephone notification we will call you.
Holidays & Days off
If your child will not be attending Little Acorns for a holiday or visit somewhere, we ask that you inform us promptly.
If you have holiday booked please let your keyworker know.
We will telephone you if you have not advised us of an absence.
Late Collections
Children should be collected from preschool at the given collection time.
We understand that there may be occasions where you are unavoidably delayed. We ask that you telephone Little Acorns to let us know of your expected arrival time (01959 540775). A late collection charge of £5.00 for delays of 10 minutes will be invoiced to you at the end of term. This will amount will increase for every additional 5 minutes late.
If we have not heard from a parent/carer after 10 minutes, we will attempt to contact you directly. If no contact can be made we will then telephone your listed emergency contacts to arrange collection of your child.
Little Acorns reserves the right to waiver any late fees in exceptional circumstances.
